Army Goodwill School (AGS), Uri was established on 16 Nov 2000, as a primary school, till class V, under the aegis of HQ 12 Inf Bde, with an aim to provide quality education to the children of the remote area of Uri and its surrounding areas. The school was started under the Sadhbhavana Project and was affiliated to Jammu & Kashmir State Board of School Education (JK BOSE). Over past eighteen years, since its inception, the school has been very well received by the locals. Presently, there are 490 students studying in the school, from UKG to Class XII. The school has been upgraded to XI and XII std for science, both for Medical and Non-Medical streams, wef academic yr 2014-15 and 2015-16.
