House System

The Army Goodwill School (AGS) Uri has a structured house system aimed at promoting holistic development, fostering teamwork, and encouraging healthy competition among students. Each house has a distinct focus, guided by dedicated in  charges and supported by a team of teachers. Here is a detailed overview of each house, their purposes, and the respective teachers:

 ECO HOUSE

              Purpose: The Eco House aims to promote environmental awareness, sustainability, and a deep appreciation for nature among students. It encourages eco-friendly practices and instills the values of conservation and responsible stewardship of natural resources.

              Agenda: Organize activities like tree planting, campus cleaning drives, recycling projects, environmental presentations, and campaigns to reduce waste and conserve energy.

 PEACE HOUSE

              Purpose: The Peace House focuses on fostering a culture of peace, understanding, and harmony within the school community. It aims to cultivate emotional intelligence, conflict resolution skills, and a sense of global citizenship among students.

              Agenda: Conduct workshops on conflict resolution, peace     building activities, cultural exchange programs, and initiatives to promote empathy, tolerance, and mutual respect.

 WELLBEING HOUSE

              Purpose: The Wellbeing House is dedicated to promoting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of students. It emphasizes the importance of a healthy lifestyle, mindfulness, and overall wellness.

              Agenda: Organize health and fitness programs, mental health awareness sessions, yoga and meditation classes, and activities that encourage a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

 WISDOM HOUSE

              Purpose: The Wisdom House aims to enhance intellectual growth, critical thinking, and academic excellence among students. It fosters a love for learning and encourages students to pursue knowledge and wisdom.

              Agenda: Organize academic competitions, debates, quizzes, book clubs, and seminars that stimulate intellectual curiosity and academic rigor.

 Overall Aim of the House System

The house system at AGS Uri is designed to provide a well-rounded educational experience that goes beyond academics. It aims to:

              Foster a sense of community and belonging among students.

              Develop leadership skills and personal responsibility.

              Encourage participation in a wide range of activities, promoting balanced development.

              Instill values such as teamwork, integrity, empathy, and resilience.

              Create opportunities for students to explore and develop their interests and talents in a supportive environment.

Each house, with its unique focus and dedicated team of teachers, contributes to the overall mission of AGS Uri: to nurture well-rounded individuals who are prepared to make positive contributions to society.

The school clubs in our school namely Army Goodwill School provides a learning opportunity to the students on various aspects. The extracurricular activities form an integral part of our school, and the various clubs open the door to build and enhance students' academic life. Under the guidance of our efficient educators, our various clubs serve a platform for students to prove themselves in various fields other than academics. The objectives of having a club for the students are:

ü  To provide leadership opportunities for students.

ü  To provide wholesome outlets for the expression of responsible ideas and opinions.

ü  To help develop the value of cooperation and responsibility.

ü  To help develop interests in activities that becomes lifelong pursuits.

ü  To provide experiences that meet and develop the academic, physical, and social needs of students.

The school offers following clubs:

v  Literary Club

Literary club helps the students to develop their selfconfidence and enhance their general knowledge. Literary club aims to develop creative skills in students. It offers opportunities to appreciate different types of literature and increase their own literary skills.

 

v  Science and Innovative Club

Scientific Innovation involves the successful exploitation of new ideas to generate new techniques, products, and processes. The science innovation club provides the right atmosphere to germinate the seeds of curiosity that nature has sown in the young minds.

 

v  Art and Culture Club

Art and Culture brings people together, it offers them the opportunity to learn from each other and understand how there is unity even in diversity. Art & Culture boast multiple opportunities for learning, entertainment, leisure, personal growth, and improving communication with others.

 

v  Photography and Video Editing Club

 The Photography and Video Editing Club at our institution is structured into three key sections, each dedicated to enhancing specific skill sets:

 

1. Video Editing Skills and Tools:

    This section focuses on teaching students how to edit videos using a variety of tools and software.

    Core software includes Filmora and Adobe Premiere, along with mobile apps such as InShot, CapCut, and VN.

    Students learn to create engaging content including short videos, reels, and short documentaries.

 

2. Photo Editing Skills and Tools:

    Students are trained in photo editing using industry standard software like Photoshop.

    They also explore various Windows and mobile-based tools to enhance their photos.

    The curriculum includes thematic photography projects that encourage creativity and technical proficiency.

 

3. Audio Editing Skills and Tools:

    This section covers audio editing essentials using software such as Audacity.

    Students learn to refine audio tracks, add effects, and ensure high-quality sound for their video projects.

 

These skills are imparted through Hobby Club Classes conducted weekly, aligned with our curriculum. Students' progress is assessed through projects and assignments tailored to each section, encouraging them to apply their learning practically. This includes creating thematic photography collections, short reels, videos, and documentaries, fostering a comprehensive understanding of multimedia editing.

 

v  Sports Club

Sports club or sporting club, sometimes an athletics club or sports society or sports association, is a group of people formed for the purpose of playing sports. Sport Club registered student organization that exists to promote and develop interest in a particular sport or physical activity.
