Army Goodwill School, Uri was established on 16 November 2000 as a primary school (up to Class 5) with an initial strength of 130 children and 6 teachers, under the aegis of HQ 12 Infantry Brigade. The school was created with the mission to provide quality education to children of remote areas in Uri and its surrounding villages, ensuring that superior-level education reached the local population.
